Reflection on Eros and Thanatos Midterm Paper
From completing this assignment, there was a better comprehension of the formal names of "life" and "death" as well as the relation the two have with each other when presented together in a certain setting, this case specifically being involved in films. Knowing the relation the two have with each other also allows one to reflect upon themselves and discover how the two terms are present in their own life and how it affects them and their surroundings. Many films take a different approach in presenting the forms of Eros and Thanatos. However, all of them are similar in terms of the symbolism made for certain motions (an example would be "life" shown in the contexts of discovering a new land and the birth of a newborn). Though the ways Eros and Thanatos are presented to the audience are different in almost every film, they can relate to the context presented by the two in various ways.
